A Chance to Travel to Africa for 10 Bucks: Food, Lodging and Safaris Included

(ContentDesk) September 19, 2005 -- Sighting lion, elephant and zebra on the savannahs of Africa is just what the members of the Feline Conservation Federation (FCF) - an organization of dedicated wildcat enthusiasts - dreamed up when they set out to create a raffle.
"Extreme adventures are more popular than ever, and African safaris rank high on peoples' dream vacation" says Joyce Basel, owner of Unlimited Fun Safaris Inc., the Bloomingdale, IL travel agency booking arrangements for this raffle.
"There's just something spectacular about seeing wildlife in its natural environment that thrills us and helps us better understand the exotic cats in our care," said Kevin Chambers, Vice President of the FCF and raffle organizer.
"Everyone wants to see the real Africa before it is all gone - nature lovers, photographers, adventurers; but travel is getting so costly, few people can afford such a trip.
That's why we decided to sweeten the deal by adding international airfare.

Now we have something nobody can resist. A real winner", says Chambers. The winning contestant and their guest receive six days and nights lodging at their choice of three possible Zulu Nyala lodges (www.zulunyala.com) in South Africa, as well as all meals and two daily safari rides.
Also included in the prize package is round trip airfare leaving from NY, DC, Atlanta or most of Western Europe, on South African Airlines.
Profits generated by the African Safari Raffle will be used by the FCF for conservation and research of wild felines. FCF supports habitat protection for South American wild cats by guiding eco-tours to the 25,000 acre Playa De Oro Margay [a small wild cat, similar to the ocelot] Reserve located in the coastal rainforest of Ecuador.

FCF Director of Conservation Carol Bohning, notes FCF members are keenly aware wild cats are threatened by habitat degradation.
"FCF funding of eco-system research goes hand-in-hand with our members' captive breeding programs. Both efforts stave off species extinction and preserve our natural heritage for future generations", says Bohning.
The $10.00 African Safari raffle tickets can be purchased on the FCF web site at www.thefcf.org.
The FCF African Safari Raffle web pages answer frequently asked questions and offer both an on-line purchase form and a mail-in purchase form.

The winning draw will be held February 12, 2006. The prize package is transferable and valid for one year. Chambers notes, "... this raffle is valued at $7000, and is definitely worth the odds!".
